The Serbian has now become a target for the Italian champions.

Inter Milan are busy in their search for a new striker as they look to replace Romelu Lukaku, who left for Chelsea in a whopping £97.5m deal.

A plethora of names has been sorted out by the Nerazzurri including the likes of Lorenzo Insigne, Duvan Zapata and Joaquin Correa.

Inter have recently announced the signing of Edin Dzeko from AS Roma but they are looking for long-term options, and they have reportedly identified Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic as a promising target.

The Scudetto winners are plotting a loan move for the 23-year-old with an option to buy later.

Jovic’s tenure at the Spanish capital club hasn’t gone as planned following his much-anticipated transfer from Frankfurt.

The Serbian failed to replicate the form he showed in the Bundesliga and eventually, he became a fringe player due to injuries and inconsistency at the Bernabeu.

Jovic also moved to his former club Frankfurt on loan for the last half of the last season to regain his form but to no effect.

Carlo Ancelotti also doesn’t see Jovic in his plans, thus leaving the striker’s future wide open.

Inter see Jovic as a feasible option if Madrid opts to cover half of his salary during the loan tenure.

Zapata and Correa are the ones Inter are keeping close tabs on, however Sporting director Piero Ausilio is understood to be a big fan of Jovic.

With Lautaro Martinez likely to stay at San Siro this summer after his agent’s comments, Simone Inzaghi is looking for a more or less impactful striker to fill the void of Lukaku.

Inter will begin their title defence in Serie A against Genoa this weekend.
