The Blues are open to selling Zouma, who has fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a summer move for out-of-favour Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.

Having already signed Cristian Romero from Atalanta, Spurs are keen to add one more defender before the transfer window closes.

Zouma has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge in the transfer window as he is currently down the pecking order of Thomas Tuchel.

The German manager has set his sights on bringing young centre-back Jules Kounde from Sevilla, who would cost around €80m.

Tuchel is planning to get rid of players who are of less importance to the side with Zouma included.

West Ham have shown interest in signing the 26-year-old but the Blues had previously attempted to include him in a player plus cash deal for Kounde.

It is also added that the French defender could play out his contract, which runs until 2023 if the Londoners fail to find a suitor.

Trevoh Chalbah, Chelse’s academy star, had a memorable debut in the Premier League last week against Crystal Palace.

Andreas Christensen also had an encouraging display and if the Blues manage to sign Kounde, their defence will be a power-packed one and at the same time, Zouma’s chances would be reduced.

Elsewhere, Spurs have been one of the better sides in terms of transfer business, capturing the likes of Romero, Bryan Gill and goalkeeper Gollini.

Nuno Santo has also made an emphatic statement in their Premier League opener after his men defeated defending champions Manchester City.
