Kassie rescued Milan after netting a last-minute penalty in the 1-1 draw against Udinese.

AC Milan secured a thrilling 1-1 draw against Udinese as Franck Kessie netted a last-gasp equaliser from the penalty spot.

Milan’s struggles were manifest with the absence of talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is their leading goal-scorer.

Rossoneri found it hard to breach through the resolute defence of Udinese and they were dealt a heavy blow after Becao scored the first goal in the 68th minute, with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma being at fault.

It almost looked like the home side were heading to a narrow defeat however Franck Kessie came to their rescue.  Milan were handed a penalty in the dying seconds of the game after Jens Stryger Larsen’s handball inside the box didn’t fail to catch the eyes of the referee. Kessie was as calm as ever to find the equaliser, which also meant the last action of the game.

Milan have secured only four points in their last four games and they are struggling to end their poor run.

Furthermore, Milan’s arch-rivals Inter Milan are having a dream run in Serie A and they lead the Scudetto race with three points clear at the top.

Rossoneri failed to close the gap with Inter nonetheless they would be happy to pick up a point as they knew that they had evaded a narrow defeat.

Milan will face tough-spirited Verona in their next league game.
