Manchester United want Napoli’s, Di Lorenzo

Manchester United are interested in signing the Napoli defender Giovanni Di Lorenzo this summer.

The Serie A defender is valued at around £17 million, and it remains to be seen whether the Premier League giants are willing to cough up that kind of money for the 27-year-old.

Di Lorenzo has been outstanding for Italy in the Euro 2020 so far, and he has been an integral part of Roberto Mancini‘s squad.

Italy have managed to reach the finals of the Euros, and Di Lorenzo has played a vital role in their success this summer.

It is evident that the Red Devils will have to bring in more competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and the 27-year-old Italian international could be ideal for them.

Manchester United have been linked with the likes of Kieran Trippier in recent weeks, but the Atletico Madrid defender will be a more expensive target.

Napoli want Emerson Palmieri

Meanwhile, Napoli are looking to improve their full-back positions as well, and they have identified the Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri as a priority target.

The newly appointed Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti wants to sign the Italian international this summer, and Napoli will try to fulfil his request.

Palmieri has been a squad player for the Blues this past season, and he will probably feel that he needs to leave the Premier League in order to play regular first-team football.

A move back to Italy could be ideal for him at this stage of his career, and a return to his comfort zone could allow him to regain his form and confidence.

Palmieri has struggled to hold down a starting berth for Italy in the European Championships this summer. Still, he was able to start in the semi-finals because of an injury to Leonardo Spinazzola.

The Italian is expected to start in the final against England as well, and it will be interesting to see if he can lead his country to international glory.
