Manchester United could sell Paul Pogba in January

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could be sold when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to Daily Star, the Premier League giants could look to cut their losses on the 28 year old French international.

Pogba will be a free agent at the end of the season and the midfielder has not signed an extension with the Old Trafford outfit yet.

It is believed that the Manchester United hierarchy are open to keeping the midfielder for the rest of the season but if a sizeable offer comes in from the likes of Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain in January,  the Premier League club will look to cash in on the player.

Pogba has been impressive form this season but the midfielder has recently suffered a major injury blow and he could be sidelined for up to 10 weeks with a damaged thigh muscle.

The player has been linked with the likes of PSG and Real Madrid in the past and it will be interesting to see if either of the two clubs come forward with a reasonable offer for the midfielder in January.

Both clubs could use some midfield reinforcements and Pogba could prove to be a quality addition for a nominal price.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has stated in the past that the player might not be at Manchester United for the long term and the club’s recent crisis means that the Frenchman could have the perfect excuse to finally move on.

Manchester United are struggling in the Premier League right now and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has an uncertain future ahead of him.

The Red Devils are unlikely to be able to challenge for the Premier League title this season and players like Pogba are likely to be frustrated with the situation.

The Frenchman is a world-class player who will want to join a club capable of winning the major trophies and the Red Devils are certainly not at that level right now.
