Sheffield United 1-2 Chelsea: Tuchel bags his third straight win since arrival

Jorginho-Chelsea

Chelsea picked up a vital away win in the Premier League against Sheffield United earlier tonight.

The Blues won the game 2-1 and they are now up to 5th in the Premier League table, just one point behind 4th placed Liverpool.

Mason Mount scored a first half goal and Jorginho wrapped up the scoring with a second half penalty to seal Chelsea’s third straight League win.

Sheffield United have been in impressive form in recent weeks and they started the game brightly. The home side had a chance to score in the first minute when Oliver Burke was played in by Oliver McBurnie, but the striker fired into the side netting.

Mount scored on the 43rd minute after a superb cut back from Timo Werner.

Sheffield United got back into the game on the 54th minute when Antonio Rudiger scored an own goal.

However, the Blues did well to restore their advantage four minutes later when Timo Werner was brought down in the box by Aaron Ramsdale and Jorginho converted from the spot.

Newly appointed Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is still unbeaten since his appointment and the Blues will be hoping to overtake Liverpool in the top four in the coming weeks now.

As for Sheffield United, they are at the bottom of the table with eleven points. They have shown clear improvement in terms of performances over the last few weeks and they must look to build on that if they want to survive relegation this season.
