Ronaldo’s Inter record shatters, Lukaku- Martinez partnership getting Inter closer to Scudetto

Lukaku surpasses Ronaldo’s tally

Romelu Lukaku has been in some form for Inter Milan this season, posing danger to the opponents and finding the nets consistently.

The Belgian striker was also able to better the tally of Brazilian legend Ronaldo during the win against Bologna. Lukaku has racked up 60 goals in 86 appearances for Nerazzurri while Ronaldo had scored 59 goals in 99 appearances during his spell with Inter.

As the stats suggest, Lukaku has surpassed the Brazilian’s record with 13 games to spare and it is no mean feat.

The 26-year-old endured a torrid spell at Manchester United before moving to San Siro in a game-changing transfer. Inter manager Antonio Conte has helped Lukaku unlock his full potential.

I will never forget that many were calling him overrated and that we overpaid for him. I said that Lukaku was a diamond that needed work and with work he has become extraordinary.

Lukaku- Martinez partnership getting Inter closer to Scudetto

The Scudetto is within the reach of Inter after their 2-1 win over Sassuolo, which helped them move 11 points clear at the top.

Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez were on target during the win, scoring both the goals for Inter.

The formidable duo has 50 goal contributions between them this season, one of the key factors behind Inter’s resurgence. Lukaku is second in the top scorers’ list with 21 goals while Martinez has 15 goals – already matched last season’s tally.

Perhaps, the duo has been cited as one of the prolific ones in Europe even on par with Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Inter will be up against Cagliari this Sunday.

Lautaro Martinez has 15 non penalty goals in an attack where his partner is the main striker scoring 21 goals. That’s amazing numbers
