Torino 2-2 Juventus: Ronaldo’s late equaliser secures a draw for struggling Juventus

The Bianconeri were close to another disappointing defeat but rescued by Ronaldo.

Juventus managed to pick up a 2-2 draw against Torino thanks to a late equaliser from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Bianconeri have been subject to more criticism after what is turning out to be a torrid season and their defeat against Benevento before the international break added much to their misery.

All they were hoping for is to break the shackles at least in the Turin derby. And rightfully so, Juve found the opening goal inside thirteen minutes through Federico Chiesa, who continues to be a top performer for the Old Lady.

However, their happiness was taken back when Torino’s Sanabria levelled the score before adding another goal as soon as the second half commenced, with the latter one coming from a lapse of concentration in the defence as Kulusevski made a dreadful back pass.

Once again, Juve needed Ronaldo for their rescue as the Portuguese ace scored a header from close range to level things up. The goal marked his 24 in Serie A this season and currently leads the scoring charts. Despite the criticism he has been facing of late, Ronaldo continues to be their key player, who is often bailing out the Bianconeri.

Andrea Pirlo would not be the happiest man around after seeing his side lose further ground in the title race. Juve could have gone on points with Atalanta at third place but that was not the case in the end.
