Netherlands international Georginio Wijnaldum is expected to sign for Paris Saint Germain in the coming days.

The midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona. Still, it seems that the French outfit have offered him a much better package, and Mauricio Pochettino has convinced the former Liverpool player to move to France.

Barcelona had an agreement with the Dutchman, and the medicals were already planned for him.

PSG have swooped in at the last moment and managed to hijack the transfer. Apparently, they have offered him double the money as compared to Barcelona.

The midfielder recently left Liverpool after his contract expired with the Premier League giants, and it will be interesting to see if he can succeed in French football now.

The versatile Dutch international can play across multiple positions in the midfield, and his signing could prove to be a very useful addition for the French outfit.

Wijnaldum has helped Liverpool win the Premier League and the Champions League, and he could prove to be a massive bargain for the French outfit, especially on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will be disappointed to have missed out on his signing especially having spent several weeks trying to agree on a deal with him.

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has worked with Wijnaldum at the international level during their time together with the Dutch national team, and he would have expected a reunion at Camp Nou this summer.
