Barcelona vs Bayern Munich: Gnabry doubtful for the Champions League clash, Gavi could get playing time.

Serge Gnabry-Germany

Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry could miss the midweek Champions League clash against Barcelona due to fitness issues.

The German forward was substituted at half-time in the weekend Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig after picking up a back injury.

According to new reports, Gnabry could be unavailable for the UCL game as he is not expected to recover in time.

Jamal Musiala is expected to be his replacement as the German teenager has been in scintillating form this season.

The 18-year-old has already racked up 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 Bundesliga games.

Barca teenager Gavi could get playing time against Bayern

Barcelona youngster Gavi could get minutes in the UCL encounter against Bayern, according to reserves coach Jose Barjuan.

The 16-year-old caught the eyes of many after his brilliant form in the pre-season and he was soon rewarded with a first-team debut.

Gavi made his first appearance in La Liga before the international break, coming in as a substitute in the 2-1 win against Getafe.

He played only one half in the weekend game for the reserves team, with manager Barjuan claiming that the teenage midfielder could get some playing time against Bayern.

Barjuan said: “I had to change Gavi at halftime. Gavi could have minutes on Tuesday against Bayern and the club’s order is for him to play 45 minutes.”

Barca manager Ronald Koeman appears to have a lot of faith in the 17-year-old since his impressive showings in the pre-season games.
