Borussia Dortmund

German giants Borussia Dortmund will look to end their disappointing Champions League campaign with a win when they welcome Turkish heavyweights Besiktas to Germany.

The hosts were beaten 3-1 by Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon in their last UCL game. The game ended their dreams of a place in the UCL knockout stages.

BVB currently have six points in the table and have secured a place in the next round of the Europa League. Even if they win this game, they will remain in third place in the standings as Sporting, who okay Ajax on the same day, hold an advantage in their head-to-head meetings with the German club.

Meanwhile, Marco Rose’s side come into this tie fresh from a disappointing 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich in Die Klassiker over the weekend. The loss was their fourth in the last six and would have left them with a bad feeling.

They will fancy their chances of ending their frustrations with a win against Besiktas.

Besiktas

Besiktas will travel to Germany liking to get their first win in the UCL group stage this season.

The visitors have lost five games in the bounce in the UCL. They are the only side in the Champions League this year still without a point ahead of the final matchday. With rivals Fenerbahce, back in 2001, the only Turkish club to have lost six from six in the group stage, Besiktas will want to avoid such a fate on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, their 2-1 loss to Ajax last month, means that the Black Eagles have lost their last eight Champions League matches, qualifying included.

Sergen Yalcin’s side drew 1-1 at Kasimpasa on Friday. The game ended a run of six successive defeats in all competitions and gave under pressure boss Yalcin some breathing space.

But he must do better in this game against BVB to give himself any chance of continuing in the Besiktas dugout. However, a win here will be difficult as Besiktas have lost each of their last six European matches outside Istanbul.

Possible Besiktas starting line-ups

Ersin Destanoglu; Valentin Rosier, Welinton, Domagoj Vida, Cengiz Meras; Atiba Hutchinson, Miralem Pjanic, Mehmet Topal; Rachid Ghezzal, Cyle Larin, Kenan Karama.
