USMNT preparing for the World Cup 2022 by developing young talents

Gio Reyna-Erling Haaland-Borussia Dortmund

The United States men’s national team is already preparing for the 2022 World Cup and a total of 10 new players have been called up to the national team.

Manager Greg Berhalter is willing to give the new faces a chance for the upcoming international matches against the likes of Panama and Wales.

Out of the 24 players called up to the US squad only six players have more than 17 caps and the average age of the squad is just under 22.

It is evident that United States have a pool of young talent at their disposal and it will be interesting to see how these players develop ahead of the World Cup.

There are several talented young players that have managed to break onto the international scene for the United States and one of them is the Borussia Dortmund winger Gio Reyna.

He’s the youngest American to ever start a Champions League game and he has been outstanding for the German club so far.

Reyna has managed to hold down a first team place for Borussia Dortmund this season and he has the potential to develop into a top class player in future.

Some of the other youngsters include Nicolas Gioacchini, Johnny Cardozs, Yunus Musah, Sebastian Soto, Chitiru Odunze, Richie Ledezma, Owen Otasowie and the likes of Chris Richards from Bayern Munich and Konrad de la Fuente from Barcelona.
