Brazil

The host nation got up to a perfect start in their first game as they dismantled Venezuela 3-0 to set the pace early in Group A.

The hosts are in search of their 10th Copa America triumph and are the favourites for this year’s campaign, judging by their imperious form and the struggles of the other teams around them.

Tite’s men were dominant against Venezuela and could have scored over three goals.

They will hope to exert the same dominance against Peru in Rio this Friday.

The hosts are in good shape heading into this tie and have scored 22 goals and conceded just two in their current eight-game winning streak.

Possible line-ups

Tite is expected to make minimal changes to the side that beat Venezuela last time out.

Alisson Becker; Danilo, Eder Militao, Marquinhos, Lodi; Casemiro, Fabinho; Paquetá, Richarlison, Neymar, Gabriel Jesus.

Peru

Due to the number of teams in the Copa this year, this will be Peru’s first Copa America match this campaign.

The visitors are making their 33rd Copa appearance this summer and are one of the six sides to have made over 30 appearances in the competition.

Winners in 1939 and 1975, the visitors finished as runners-up in the last edition and are looking to begin on a pleasant note this year after they began with a 0-0 draw last time out.

However, in a repeat of the last edition, they are in the same group as Brazil. They lost 5-0 to Brazil in their third group game.

They will hope for a better performance this time to avoid an embarrassing early exit at the tournament.

But with two wins from their last ten games, their form heading into this tie is not encouraging, and Brazil look well-placed to take advantage. Anything short of a loss in this tie will be seen as a big result.

Possible line-ups

Pedro Gallese; Advincula, Ramos, Luis Abram, Marcos Lopez; Yoshimar Yotun, Renato Tapia; André Carrillo, Sergio Pena, Cueva; Gianluca Lapadula.
