The Chelsea striker racked up a goal and an assist in Germany’s 6-0 win against Armenia.

Chelsea striker Timo Werner took the centre stage after putting on a stunning display in Germany’s 6-0 win over Armenia in the World Cup qualifiers.

Werner mustered a goal and an assist during the routing of Armenia and the way he found the nets really took the cake.

The 25-year-old took a precise touch from Jamal Musiala’ pass before nutmegging the goalkeeper.

He was also on target for Hansi Flick’s side in the 2-0 win against Liechtenstein a few days ago.

Werner’s impressive international break – an emphatic statement to Tuchel and Romelu Lukaku

Werner has fallen down the pecking order of Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea ever since the arrival of the record signing Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian international hit the ground running after scoring on his Premier League debut against Arsenal and further solidified his place as the team’s focal point.

Now, Werner must have restored enough confidence after a stellar international break, thus providing a selection headache for Tuchel.

The German forward is looking sharper than ever and he would be too good to be left out in the starting line-up for the Londoners.

Chelsea will be up against Aston Villa this weekend and Tuchel can experiment with the duo of Lukaku and Werner in the same 11 at the expense of the latter’s compatriot Kai Havertz.

Werner’s ability to make runs behind the opposition defensive line coupled with Lukaku’s strength of holding the ball would make them one of the fearsome duos in the Premier League.
