Chelsea midfielder Jorginho was linked with a move away from the Premier League club earlier in the summer but the 29-year-old ended up staying.
The player’s agent has now revealed that it would be a dream come true for the midfielder to return to the Italian league and a transfer might be possible next summer after the World Cup.
“He has a contract with Chelsea until [June] 2023,” Santos told Radio Bianconera. “Obviously, it would be a dream for him to return to Italy, hopefully after winning the World Cup.
“We’ll have to see what the market looks like in a couple of years and what the other situations are.”
The Italian international has been in outstanding form over the past year and he helped his country win the European Championships and he won the Champions League with Chelsea as well.
Jorginho is undoubtedly one of the best players at Chelsea right now and losing him could be a major blow for the Blues.
It will be interesting to see if Thomas Tuchel can convince the midfielder to continue at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future.
The Italian international is at the peak of his powers right now and he could be a key player for Chelsea over the next few seasons.
It is understandable why the Italian international wants to return to Serie A in the near future.
He was outstanding for Napoli in the Italian league before his move to Chelsea and the intensity of Italian football suits his style of play as well.
Clubs like Roma, Inter Milan and Juventus could certainly use a top-class midfielder like him and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
