Macarthur FC will look to continue their quest for a place in the final series playoff when they travel to Leichhardt Oval to face Western United this Monday.

Stadium: Leichhardt Oval

Key Statistics

  • Western United are on a six-game losing run
  • The hosts have conceded 20 goals in their last five games and scored just two goals.
  • They have failed to score in five of their last seven games
  • Macarthur FC are unbeaten in their last three away games (W1, D2)
  • They have failed to score only once in their last ten games.

Western United

Western United have been in a bad run of form in recent times, losing six games in a row and scoring just two goals in seven games.

The poor results have seen them drop to 10th place on the A-League standings with just two games left to play. They will hope to arrest that poor run of form when they welcome their rivals to New South Wales.

However, they suffered a big 6-1 loss to Melbourne Victory last time out, meaning that their confidence is at an all-time low heading into this tie. But their 4-1 win over Macarthur FC in February will serve as a source of encouragement that they can pick up a big win again if they put in a good performance.

Meanwhile, Dalibor Markovic is currently the only player absent for Mark Ruda’s side, with the left-back unavailable due to an ankle injury.

Possible line-ups

Ryan Scott; Andrew Durante, Dylan Pierias, Ivan Vujica; Steven Lustica, Victor Sanchez; Dylan Pierias, Tomoki Imai, Connor Pain, Alessandro Diamanti; Besart Berisha.

Mcarthur FC

After suffering a 2-1 loss to Central Coast Mariners in their last league outing, Macarthur FC will look to bounce back to winning ways when they travel to Leichhardt Oval.

The Bulls have been in a decent run of form in recent times, losing just once in their last seven games (W2, D4).

They are currently occupying the sixth position on the A-League standings and can move a step closer to a final series playoff. Ante Milicic will be hoping his side can put in a good shift and perhaps pick up their 11th win of the season.

Nicholas Suman is the only injury concern for Ante Milicic and will not be risked in this game.

Possible line-ups

Adam Federici; James Meredith, Mark Milligan, Aleksandar Jovanovic, Ivan Franjic; Benat Etxebarria, Denis Genreau; Moudi Najjar, Loic Puyo, Markel Susaeta; Matt Derbyshire.
