After Champions League loss and with Sergio Aguero gone, Manchester City should wait no time to snap up a genuine 'Number-9' for next season.

Manchester City lost champions League against Chelsea and the Tottenham striker is keen for an exit this summer in search of silverware. They could be the match -‘Made in heaven’.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is looking for an exit this summer, with Manchester City said to be one of the potential suitors.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Citizens are expected to commence the talks with Spurs over the signing of Kane in the coming weeks. He also adds that the 27-year-old is a priority for the Premier League champions.

Kane has made it clear that he wants to leave the North Londoners this summer, citing the fact that he hadn’t enjoyed many trophies over the years.

Man City look to have identified the Three Lions striker as the successor to Sergio Aguero, who recently bid farewell at the Etihad.

Citizens could face competition from fellow Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea, who are also said to be in the transfer race for England skipper Harry Kane.

But with Sergio Aguero gone, the City are in dire need of their frontman. They had a system where they almost eliminated the need of ‘number-9’. But the Champions League loss will force him to rethink. They will be out for summer shopping for sure. It will be interesting to see, who wears sky blue at the start of next Premier League season – Harry Kane or Erling Haaland or someone else like Andre Silva.

However, there is a stumbling block in the transfer as Spurs are reportedly reluctant to let go of their star striker this summer.

Furthermore, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would demand around £150m for Kane, and it remains to be seen whether his suitors can afford such a high price amid the pandemic-hit financial crisis.

Kane concluded the Premier League season with a personal high of 23 goals and 14 assists, becoming the top scorer as well as the top assist providers in the process, although Spurs endured yet another run of the lacklustre campaign, ending up seventh in the league.
