Club Brugge

Belgian side Club Brugge will hope to continue their stay in the Champions League when they welcome the German side, RB Leipzig, to Brugge.

The hosts have a slim chance of progressing to the next round as long as they win this game and Man City beat PSG in the other group fixture. Such a result will give them seven points and needing a win in the last group game to book their place in the next round.

However, they come into this game in a poor run of form having failed to win any of their last three games. Their 2-1 loss to KV Mechelen over the weekend was their second in three games and puts them in a difficult position going into their game with Leipzig.

They beat Leipzig in the reverse fixture though and will be confident of repeating that result.

Possible club Brugge starting line-ups

Simon Mignolet; Clinton Mata, Brandon Mechele, Stanley Nsoki, Eduard Sobol; Matej Mitrovic, Eder Alvarez Balanta, Hans Vanaken; Charles De Ketelaere, Bas Dost, Noa Lang.

Injured: Ruben Providence

Suspended: None

RB Leipzig

Leipzig’s 2021/22 Champions League run was ended in the last round after they failed to beat PSG, drawing the game 2-2.

The German side have lost three of their opening four UCL group games and come into this tie sitting bottom of the table with just one point.

They are now only playing to qualify for a place in the Europa League and will be desperate to get a win here to give them a chance.

Jesse Marsch side’s 2-0 loss to Hoffenheim in the weekend ended a run of five games without a defeat (W3, D2). The result showed off the inconsistent form of the German side and will be a source of worry for them heading into this side.

However, despite that loss, the American will fancy his side’s chances of picking up a win in Belgium.

Possible Club Brugge starting line-ups

Peter Gulacsi; Nordi Mukiele, Willi Orban, Klostermann, Josko Gvardiol; Angelino, Amadou Haidara Ilaix Moriba; Christopher Nkunku, Emil Forsberg, Silva.

Injured: Dani Olmo, Yussuf Poulsen, Mohamed Simakan, Marcel Halstenberg, Dominik Szoboszlai Amadou Haidara and Konrad Laimer.

Suspended: Tyler Adams

Prediction

Club Brugge 2 -3 RB Leipzig
