Camavinga transfer blow
Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has revealed that the negotiations are going on between him and the club over a contract extension.
It comes as a huge blow for his potential suitors Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Camavinga, 16, broke into the limelight after back to back impressive seasons in Ligue 1, which eventually helped him earn a national call up last year.
The young midfielder said,
“There are negotiations, conversations happening about my extension. If it happens, it happens. It’s you the reporters who want me to leave, but I’m 100% focused on my team, we’ll see what happens after.”
Camavinga’s current deal expires in 2022 and if he is to sign an extension, then the clubs will be forced to splurge on him, which is quite difficult amidst the pandemic.
United leading the race for Upamecano
The Red Devils are said to be at the front of the queue for the signing of RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, who is valued at €42.5m.
The French man has been considered as one of the young exciting defenders in Europe, with clubs like Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Chelsea in contention to sign him.
It is also added that Leipzig couldn’t prevent Upamecano from leaving in the summer.
Earlier reports stated that the German club had no intentions of selling the 22-year-old in January, with Julian Nagelsmann’s side competing for the Bundesliga title as well the Champions League.
Upamecano also had his breakthrough with the France national team last year, featuring in the Nations League.
