Erling Haaland prepared to wait another year to join Chelsea

Erling Haaland-Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has been linked with several European heavyweights in recent months, but it appears that the Norwegian striker is keen on a move to Chelsea.

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are keen on signing the player this summer, but they are also open to agreeing on a deal for next year if Dortmund are unwilling to sell the player now.

Apparently, Haaland is prepared to join the Blues even if he has to wait another year, and it will be interesting to see if the Premier League side can negotiate a fee with the German outfit now.

The 20-year-old Norwegian is one of the best strikers on the planet, and Thomas Tuchel could certainly use someone like him.

The Blues spent a lot of money on Timo Werner at the start of the last season, but the German has failed to live up to the expectations so far. Haaland would undoubtedly be an upgrade on the German striker.

Since joining the German club, the 20-year-old has been in exceptional form, and he has chipped in with 41 goals and 12 assists this past season.

He was also the top scorer in the Champions League with 10 goals in eight matches.

There is no doubt that Haaland is a world-class player, and he is destined to develop into a superstar in future.

The player could leave for a fee of around £65-86 million next year. However, reports claim that a club willing to sign Haaland this summer will have to pay over £150 million.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid have been linked with the Norwegian striker as well, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
