Manchester City secured the Premier League title after Manchester United’s defeat earlier tonight.

It was their fifth Premier League title, and only Manchester United have won more in the history of the competition.

Pep Guardiola has now managed to win three Premier League titles in his last five seasons at the Etihad stadium.

It has been a difficult season for every club cause of the pandemic and the fixture congestion.

The overall season has been condensed, and the players have had very little time to recover physically from the last season. However, Guardiola has managed to get his players firing on all cylinders, and they have deservedly secured the title this season.

The Premier League giants have shown great mental resolve to fight and secure the title. They are only the third Premier League side to win the title despite being as many as eight points behind the league leaders at Christmas.

It seems that Manchester City have taken the next step in their development, and the young players are starting to make their impact felt.

The likes of Phil Foden and Ruben Dias have been crucial to Manchester City’s title win this season.

The Portuguese defender has transformed Manchester City’s back four, and he is probably the most important signing in the club’s history in recent years.

Similarly, Phil Foden has developed into an outstanding player, and he has 14 goals and 10 assists to his name in all competitions.

The young midfielder is close to guiding his side to Champions League glory as well.

Another player contributing massively to the Manchester City title win is the German international midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder has wholly reinvented himself this season, and he has chipped in with vital goals throughout the season. Apart from his playmaking abilities, the 30-year-old’s old scoring has been invaluable for Pep Guardiola and his side.

The German has 16 goals and 4 assists to his name all season, and considering the fact that he plays as a central midfielder, those are impressive numbers.

The likes of Sergio Aguero have not been able to make the desired impact this season due to injuries. Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Ferran Torres have not been at their best either.

Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne demonstrated his exceptional consistency once again, and he has been a critical player for Manchester City this season, along with winger Riyad Mahrez.

The Algerian winger has had an awe-inspiring season, and his form has kept the likes of Sterling out of the starting eleven more often than not.

It has been a record-breaking season for Pep Guardiola personally as well. The Spanish manager has now won the League title in nine of his twelve seasons, managing in the top flight. Furthermore, he has equalled the number of Premier League title wins with Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger as well.

Pep Guardiola has now won the league title in nine of his 12 seasons managing in the top-flight, winning three each with @FCBarcelona, @FCBayernEN and @ManCity.
Pep Guardiola has won the @premierleague title in three of his five seasons managing in the top-flight, the first manager to win the league in three of his first five seasons managing in the top-flight since Kenny Dalglish (1985-86, 1987-88 & 1989-90).
