Everton are interested in signing the Turkish defender Merit Demiral from Juventus this summer.

The 23-year-old is highly rated across Europe and he has a big future ahead of him.

However, he is not a key player for the Italian side just yet and Everton hoping to make the most of that opportunity and snap him up in the summer.

According to reports, Everton have already initiated contacts to sign the defender and an official offer of around €25 to 30 million is set to be submitted soon.

Apparently Juventus value the player higher than that and negotiations will be underway to determine the asking price.

The report further claims that Demiral earns around €1.8 million at Juventus and a move to Everton would see that rise to €3 million per season.

Carlo Ancelotti needs to improve his defensive options in the summer and Demiral could prove to be a quality long term signing for his side.

The young defender needs regular football to develop himself and fulfil his potential and the Merseyside outfit will be able to provide him with that platform.

It remains to be seen whether the Premier League side can agree on a fee with Juventus in the coming weeks now.

The player is reportedly focused on performing for his country in the Euros before he decides his club future and Manchester United are thought to be keeping tabs on him alongside Everton as well.
