Arsenal are interested in the signing the RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano this summer.
As per reports, AC Milan are keen on the player as well.
The 21-year-old is highly rated in Germany and he could be a superb long term signing for the Gunners.
Arteta needs to improve his defensive options and Upamecano would be the ideal option. He is young, talented and he will only keep getting better with time.
The likes of Sokratis and Luiz are in their 30s and Arsenal need to bring in talented young players who are hungry to prove themselves at the top level.
Upamecano fits the bill and he should be a priority for the Gunners this summer.
If Arsenal want to return to the top four, they will have to improve at the back. The Gunners have been leaky at the back for years and that has cost them dearly.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can agree on a deal with Leipzig for the player.
The German outfit will not want to sell a key asset cheaply and the Londoners might have to fork out a premium.
Convincing the player to move to Emirates should not be too difficult. Arsenal can offer him a much bigger platform and better wages.
Furthermore, the chance to play in the Premier League is quite tempting.
Upamecano has the technical ability and the physical presence to succeed in English football and it will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer.
