The match had to be suspended around the 76th minute but Nice did come back onto the pitch to complete the game once the situation calmed down.

However, the Marseille players did not return for the remainder of the game and according to the French league rules Nice are set to be awarded a 3-0 victory.

As per the latest reports, Marseille are set to contend the decision later and they will demand that the outcome of the match is reversed.

We need to set precedents for French football. The referee was with us, he confirmed that to us, that safety was not assured. His decision was to abandon the match, but the LFP decided to restart the match. It is not acceptable for us.
