Manchester United have confirmed the return of Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

The 36 year old Portuguese international has been linked with a move away from Juventus for weeks now and the Red Devils have managed to secure his return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo spent his formative years at the Premier League club and he managed to score 118 goals in 292 games for Manchester United during his first spell at the club.

The Portuguese international returns as a five-time Balon d’Or winner and he has won over 30 major trophies during his career including five Champions League titles, four Club World cups and seven league titles across multiple countries.

The player was initially linked with the move to Manchester City but it appears that Ronaldo decided to return to his former club instead.

According to a statement on the club’s official website, the move is subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and a medical.

It is expected that the 36 year old will sign a two-year contract at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have had an exceptional transfer window so far and they signed the likes of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane before agreeing on a deal to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo.

It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can challenge and win the Premier League title this season. They will certainly be one of the favourites given the quality of their squad.

Despite being 36, Ronaldo remains one of the very best in the world and he could make a big difference for Manchester United.
