Tottenham Hotspur keeping tabs on Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino - Favourite to take charge as Newcastle Manager

The North Londoners are considering a reunion with Pochettino as they look to replace under-fire boss Nuno Santo.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keeping tabs on PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino as a replacement for Nuno Santo.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Spurs are considering sacking the under-fire manager Nuno Santo and want to bring Pochettino as his replacement.

Santo was appointed as the new manager of the North Londoners in the summer transfer window after deals with Antonio Conte and Paulo Fonseca broke down.

Despite an impressive start, the Portuguese manager has been winless in the last three games in the Premier League that includes a defeat against Arsenal in the North London derby last week.

Spurs are now ready to part ways with under-performing Santo if Pochettino becomes available.

Pochettino took charge at PSG at the start of this year after being without a job for a year since he was sacked by Spurs.

The Argentine manager led Les Parisiens to the Champions League semi-finals and Coupe de France last season.

The expectations have doubled for Pochettino following a blockbuster summer transfer window in which Paris Saint Germain managed to rope in Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Lionel Messi.

In addition, Pocehttino also extended his contract at the French capital until 2023 in the summer, and there is hardly any chance for him to leave midway through this season.

Pochettino had worked wonders during his previous spell at Spurs and the most memorable moment was the excellent run in the Champions League 2018/19 season, where the North Londoners ended as the runners-up.

Spurs attempted to re-sign Pochettino in the summer but to no avail in the end.
