Chelsea-Bayer finally agreed on Kai Havertz transfer

Bayer 3-1 Gladbach - Havertz braces put Bayer at third spot in Bundesliga table

Chelsea have agreed on a deal to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

The highly-rated attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for a while now and the Blues will be delighted to have secured the agreement for his transfer.

Havertz scored 18 goals and he also managed to assist nine more for the German side last season.

He is widely regarded as a world-class prospect and he should prove to be a sensational addition to Chelsea’s attack.

The Blues needed to improve their attacking options in order to challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City next season and they have now managed to sign three quality players in Werner, Ziyech and Havertz.

According to reports, the deal will be worth around £90m and the midfielder is due to fly to London this week to complete the formalities of the transfer.

Kai Havertz will be Chelsea’s club-record signing and it will be interesting to see how he performs in the Premier League next season.

Chelsea are thought to be closing in on the transfers of Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva as well.

The Blues have had a fantastic transfer window so far and Frank Lampard will be under pressure to win trophies next season.

The Chelsea manager did well to improve young players like Mount, Abraham, Tomori, Pulisic last season and it will be interesting to see how he integrates the likes of Werner and Havertz into the side next season.
