Inter Milan defender Achraf Hakimi is set to sign for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
PSG desperately needed Hakimi
According to the reliable French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, the 22-year-old Moroccan defender will arrive in Paris tomorrow to undergo his medical examination with the French side. He will sign a five-year contract with them.
Paris Saint-Germain are paying a fee of around €60 million for the right-back.
Hakimi has been one of the best full-backs in the world over the past year, and he could prove to be a quality long term addition for the French outfit.
The right-back position has been a major weakness for PSG over the years, and Hakimi’s arrival will sort out a significant weakness for them.
The player was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea as well, but the French outfit have managed to fend off the competition from the Premier League side and secure his services.
Hakimi was a key player for Inter Milan last season, but the Italian giants are under financial pressure, and they will have to cash in on some of their players in order to balance the books.
Star striker Romelu Lukaku was linked with a move away from the club earlier this summer as well. Still, Hakimi’s departure should help the Italians cope with their financial losses and hold on to other key players like Lukaku.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old defender has proven himself in Germany and Italy already. He will be hoping to make his mark in France next season.
