Chelsea handed Alaba boost

David Alaba remains a top target for Chelsea although Real Madrid are said to be leading the race for him.

Alaba, who had announced his departure from Bayern Munich, is patiently waiting for his next move.

The Austrian’s agent Pini Zahavi has stated that – although the Spanish clubs remain his possible destination – talks are being held with other clubs as well. It comes as a huge transfer boost for the Blues.

“David has decided who wins the race, but we are still speaking with other clubs. There is no deadline.”

Haaland’s price tag is much higher

Erling Haaland’s price tag is much higher than the reported €75m, claims former Norway striker Jan Aage Fjortoft.

The Borussia Dortmund striker has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with the Blues looking for a new centre-forward this summer.

Fjortoft believes Haaland would cost more than €75m but added that Dortmund’s reported valuation of €180m could be implausible.

“A lot of journalists are writing it’s €75m but I’ve been told that that clause is much higher.

“There are reasons why I don’t think it would be €180m.”

Werner determined to stay

Timo Werner has committed his future to the Blues despite the exit rumours linking him in a swap deal for Haaland.

The German’s first season at Stamford Bridge hasn’t gone as planned but he is determined to prove his worth next season.

Despite possessing raw pace and smart movements, Werner lacked the finishing throughout this season. It would be only a matter of time before the former RB Leipzig striker finds his form back.
