Newcastle United have asked about Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana according to Sportsmail.

The Magpies are looking to add another attacker to their exciting squad and are considering bringing the youngster to Saint James’ Park this summer.

Eddie Howe’s side had initially considered signing Leeds United’s Jack Harrison but were put off by his £35m valuation. But they believe that they can get Kamaldeen for cheaper becasue what Rennes want up front for the player is not as much as what Leeds are requesting.

Ligue 1 side Rennes paid £17m to sign him from Danish side Nordsjaelland last year and he is now valued at around £30m.

The skilful Ghana international is regarded as one of the brightest prospects playing in Europe and has also drawn interest from the likes of Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen.

The 20-year-old scored four goals in ten Ligue 1 matches last season, and also made three appearances in the Europa Conference.
