Portuguese international Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

The 23-year-old had an impressive club campaign with Lille this past year, and he helped them win the French league title.

Furthermore, the young midfielder has carried his form into the Euro 2020 as well, and he has been outstanding for Portugal so far.

It will be interesting to see if he can help his country defend their European Championships title this summer.

Liverpool need to bring in a quality replacement for the Dutch international Gini Wijnaldum, who left the club on a free transfer and Sanches could prove to be a quality long term acquisition.

The 23-year-old midfielder would add power, drive and flair to the Liverpool midfield next season.

After his struggles at Bayern Munich and Swansea City, the Portuguese international seems to have rediscovered the form that made him one of the most coveted young players around Europe. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can bring him to Anfield in the coming days.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has helped several young players fulfil their potential, and he could be the man to unlock Sanches’ potential as well.

Recently the director of the French club also admitted that the player could leave Lille this summer.

Club director Olivier Letang believes that the 23-year-old is a top profile player, and it is no surprise that the top clubs are interested in signing him this summer.

“There are already some clubs interested because we have had a recent discussion,” he said. “But everybody needs to be happy for this to happen.

“I do not know if Renato will stay with us or not. Not yet. Let’s see. But as a top, top-profile player, it’s logical that you get some top clubs that are interested in him.”
