Newcastle United Transfer: Coutinho is linked, Niklas Sule talks underway

Philippe Coutinho-Barcelona

Barcelona players unhappy with Newcastle-linked Coutinho

Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club Barcelona for months now.

The Spanish giants wanted to sell the 29 year old during the summer transfer window but they failed to find a suitor for the former Liverpool midfielder.

It appears that Coutinho‘s teammates are now annoyed with him because of his attitude.

Barcelona were held to a 3-3 draw against Celta Vigo at the weekend and the Brazilian midfielder was not chosen as a second-half substitute by the interim manager Sergi Barjuan due to his poor attitude during warm-up.

It seems that the midfielder has downed tools at the Spanish club and he is keen on forcing a move away from Barcelona as per Daily Star.

The player has been linked with a move to Newcastle United and it remains to be seen whether the Premier League side are willing to come forward with an offer for him when the transfer window reopens in January.

The 29-year-old midfielder played his best football with Liverpool in the Premier League and he could prove to be a quality short term addition for Newcastle United for the right price.

The Magpies need to add creativity and goals to their midfield and the Brazilian could be a useful option for them.

Newly appointed manager Eddie Howe is expected to be backed in the transfer market by the club’s new owners and the Magpies should be able to pull off the transfer if they are really interested in bringing the player back to the Premier League.

Newcastle in talks to sign Niklas Sule

Meanwhile, Newcastle are keen on improving their defensive options as well and they have already contacted the representatives of the German international defender Niklas Sule.

According to Newcastle world, the player is open to a move to the Premier League club.

The defender will be out of contract at Bayern Munich soon and the club hierarchy have been in talks with his representatives for months as they look to agree on a contract extension.

However, they have failed to convince the 26-year-old so far and it would be wise of the German giants to cash in on him during the January transfer window if the player refuses to sign a new contract with them.

Newcastle have been quite vulnerable at the back this season and signing a player like Sule would improve them massively. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a deal for the German international in the coming months.
