Kane might not be a good investment for top clubs

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the Premier League club this summer.

However, signing him could prove to be a mistake for top clubs around Europe.

According to reports, the England international is likely to cost around €180 million and the top clubs are better off investing that kind of money on the likes of Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe.

Harry Kane has very little global marketing appeal and he is unlikely to charm the fans if he moves to a club like Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Furthermore, the Tottenham striker has a limited skill set and he is more of a poacher as compared to a complete forward.

The 27-year-old is at the peak of his career and signing him can guarantee goals for a side but he is missing the wow factor like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. He is unlikely to get fans off their seats or leave them speechless with his display.

Even the likes of Mbappe and Neymar can change games almost single-handedly with staggering skills for example.

Meanwhile, the Tottenham star has been plagued with injuries over the past couple of seasons and it could be an issue for a club paying top dollar for his services.

The England international’s decision making has been questionable in the big games as well and it was evident when he missed big chances for England against Croatia during the World Cup.

Mourinho on Kane

Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho believes that Harry Kane is happy with his situation for club and country and he is focused on qualifying for the Champions League with Tottenham.

The player has recently been linked with a move away from the London club but Mourinho refused to discuss transfer rumours.

Kane has a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2024 and it will be interesting to see the Premier League side can hold onto him beyond this summer.
