Liverpool Update: Salah could be sold, Reneto Sanchez agreement, Kabak link

Mohamed Salah-Liverpool

Former Egyptian international Mohamed Aboutrika has claimed that Liverpool could cash in on Mohamed Salah due to economical reasons at the end of this season.

The Egyptian is arguably the best player at the club right now and it would be quite surprising if the Premier League champions decided to sell him in the near future.

Salah has been crucial to Liverpool’s recent domination and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to hold on to him for the long run.

Aboutrika also claims that Salah is upset at Liverpool and he could join Real Madrid or Barcelona in future.

“I called Salah about his situation at Liverpool and he is upset, but that would never affect his performance on the field,” Aboutrika told.

“I know that Salah is not happy in Liverpool, he told me the reasons why he is not happy but they are secrets and I cannot talk about it in public. One of the reasons that made Salah angry was that he was not the captain against Midtjylland.”

Aboutrika added: “If Salah was a player at Real Madrid or Barcelona, and playing at the same level as Liverpool, he would’ve won the Ballon d’Or, and it is normal for a Spanish newspaper to ask Salah about Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“In my opinion, Liverpool are considering selling Salah for economic purposes.

“I do not have any influence over Salah’s decisions, he is my friend and brother, and he is smart enough to know what is best for him.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Portuguese international Renato Sanches.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been outstanding for Lille in the recent months and he could prove to be a quality long term signing for the Premier League champions.

Liverpool are all set to lose Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer at the end of this season and Sanches could be his ideal alternative.

Apparently the former Bayern Munich midfielder is valued at £18 million and Liverpool have managed to secure an agreement with the French outfit regarding Sanchez.

Meanwhile Liverpool have been linked with the Schalke defender Ozan Kabak.

The German club believe that the Premier League champions will submit an offer for the young defender when the transfer window reopens in January and they are looking to sign Divock Origi in a part-exchange deal.

Liverpool need to improve their defensive options because of the injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

It will be interesting to see if they can convince Schalke to sell them Ozan Kabak next month.
