Arsenal are eyeing up a move for the Barcelona keeper Neto this summer. According to Express, the 30-year-old shot-stopper is surplus to requirements at Camp Nou and he has been told to find a new club.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are on the hunt for a quality back up and Neto would be ideal for them. Bernd Leno needs some competition and the Barcelona man could push him for a first-team place. Neto would be an upgrade on the likes of Martinez as well.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal make their move for the Brazilian in the coming weeks.

They are not the only ones after Neto this summer. London rivals Chelsea are thought to be keen on the player as well. However, the Blues are more interested in Ajax’ Andre Onana.

Neto’s situation at Barcelona means that he is unlikely to cost a lot this summer. Arsenal certainly have the means to make the transfer possible. As for the player, a move to the Premier League would be ideal as well.

He won’t start for Barcelona ahead of Ter Stegen and a move to England could give him the chance to play more often. Leno is a good keeper but he is not as good as Ter Stegen. Neto will fancy his chances against the Arsenal number one.

He will be hoping to impress in training and force his way into Arteta’s first-team plans if he joins the Gunners next season.
