Arsenal defender David Luiz has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The 33-year-old is out of contract and he hasn’t been offered an extension yet.

It appears that the player might be keen on a return to Benfica this summer.

However, Daily Star are claiming that the Gunners have altered their stance now and they are willing to keep Luiz at the club for another year.

They want the defender to sign an extension but on reduced terms.

It will be interesting to see if they can get David Luiz to agree to that.

The player’s agent has also claimed that there is a good chance of his client staying at Arsenal next season.

If the Gunners do manage to agree on a new deal, Luiz could be a useful squad player for Mikel Arteta next season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking to tie up their star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to an extension as well.

They are looking to offer him a two-year deal.

Aubameyang’s current deal expires in 2021 and the Londoners want to keep him at the club until 2023.

It will be interesting to see if the Gabon international signs the extension in the coming weeks.

He has been a key player for Arsenal ever since he joined them and he is their captain as well. Keeping him at the club should be top priority for Arteta.

The 30-year-old is one of Arsenal’s top earners on around £200,000-a-week.
