The Bavarians chief has had his say on Sane’s recent struggles and Mbappe’s links

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has commented that Leroy Sane has to up his ante in order to have a big future at the club.

Rummenigge also added that Bayern would do everything to help the former Schalke man adapt to the Bundesliga.

Sane, who was signed from Manchester City in the summer, hasn’t made a big impression in his debut season at Allianz Arena. Furthermore, the German winger was taken off in the game against Bayer Leverkusen despite coming as a substitute in the first half, which hasn’t gone well with him.

Rummenigge said,  “Leroy was not happy [to be taken off], that’s clear and understandable. God gave him incredible talents. I only believe one thing: he has not yet reached this FC Bayern gene.

“We have done everything we can to ensure that he comes to Bayern. We encourage every player, but we also challenge. He has to internalise that and the team supports him.’

“I believe that he can have a big future at FC Bayern. We are ready to help him, to encourage him, but he also has to challenge himself in order to get to where he can be. We will, if necessary, kick his butt to get him there.

The Bavarians chief also commented on PSG star Kylian Mbappe‘s links, ruling out the transfer as an impossible one.

The French World Cup winner has been subject to transfer interest of top European clubs after he had reportedly handed a transfer request to PSG.

Rummenigge said,  “I love Mbappe and his way of playing, but we will never be able to bring him to Bayern.

Anyway, he is where he is. Nasser (Al-Khelaifi, PSG president) is a good friend of mine. I will not bother him on this subject.”
