The Bavarians picked up a crucial win to move ten points clear ahead of Leipzig.

Bayern Munich defeated Leverkusen 3-2 at home which helped them move 10 points ahead of Leipzig.

The Bavarians had endured a tough few weeks, suffering elimination against PSG in the Champions League quarter-finals and they only managed to scrape a win over Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga – which meant Leverkusen had the chance to get the better of the defending champions.

However, the result turned out to be the opposite for Leverkusen as Bayern went 2-0 inside 13 minutes of the game, with Eric Choupo-Moting and Joshua Kimmich being the scorers.

The first goal came as a result of a great vision of David Alaba, who made a precise cross to Thomas Muller, who forced a save from Hradecky before the stand-in striker for Robert Lewandowski, Choupo-Moting scored on the rebound.

Kimmich fired in a thunderous hit from the edge of the penalty area, leaving no chance for the goalkeeper.

The scoreline remained the same for the entire game as Bayern picked up three important points to extend their lead in the Bundesliga table.

Hansi Flick, who recently announced his departure, cut a happy figure on the sidelines, celebrating each of the goals in the dugout.

Leverkusen had the chance to put pressure on the hosts as they started the game on the front foot, testing Manuel Neuer early on in the game. However after the two goals were scored, the momentum completely belonged to Bayern for the remainder of the game.
