Bayern Munich have agreed to sign the RB Leipzig centre back Dayot Upamecano at the end of the season.
The German champions will pay the Frenchman’s release clause of €42m and Bayern CEO Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that they have managed to agree personal terms with the player.
Leipzig have moved quickly to secure Simakan as his replacement from Strasbourg and they have splashed out on Angelino from Manchester City as well.
The 22-year-old is one of the most exciting young defenders in European football right now and he should prove to be a quality addition to the Bayern defence.
The player has been heavily linked with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in the recent weeks but it seems that he has decided to continue his career in the Bundesliga.
With the likes of David Alaba and Jerome Boateng expected to leave at the end of the season, Bayern Munich needed to bring in defensive reinforcements.
Upamecano is certainly a superb long term investment for them and it will be interesting to see if they can help him develop into one of the best defenders in world football.
