FC Koln

Koln will look to pick up their second win in a row when they welcome VfB Stuttgart to the RheinEnergieStadion this Sunday.

The ‘Billy Goats’ ended a run of two games without a win when they came from behind to win Wolfsburg thanks to a brace from veteran French striker Anthony Modeste. The win was their first league victory away from home all season and moved them into tenth place on the table.

Steffen Baumgart and his boys could climb into a European place by collecting all three points for the second Matchday in a row, something that would round up an excellent first half of the season for them.

With just one loss all season at home (W4, D3) the hosts will enter this tie confident of taking maximum points from this game.

Possible FC Koln starting line-ups

VfB Stuttgart

Stuttgart will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome to Cologne this Sunday for their last league game of the year.

The visitor’s three-match unbeaten run was ended at home to Bayern Munich last time out with the league leaders putting five past VfB who could not get a goal.

Before that loss to Bayern, Stuttgart had won 2-0 away to Wolfsburg. That result was just their second clean sheet in this Bundesliga campaign and was also their only taste of victory away from home in the top-flight this season. Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side have taken just four points from their road trips (W1, D3, L3) which leave them hovering just above the automatic relegation spot.

Their last five Bundesliga away games have seen them fail to defeat Bochum (D 0-0), Mönchengladbach (D 1-1) and Augsburg (L 4-1), suggesting that the win against Wolfsburg could be a fluke.

Despite that record, they will be desperate to win this game and push themselves completely clear of the relegation zone.

Possible VfB Stuttgart starting line-ups

Florian Muller; Konstantinos Mavropanos, Waldemar Anton, Hiroki Ito; Atakan Karazor; Borna Sosa, Roberto Massimo, Wataru Endo, Tanguy Coulibaly; Philipp Forster, Omar Marmoush.

Injured: Mohamed Sankoh, Erik Thommy, Sasa Kalajdzic, Enzo Millot, Philipp Klement

Doubtful: Fabian Bredlow, Roberto Massimo, Nikolas Nartey

Suspended: None
