Flick, Rose, Hutter, Nagelsmann – the Bundesliga managers who are set for a move this summer

Hansi Flick has recently announced his departure from Bayern Munich at the end of this season.

Bundesliga has witnessed a surprise few weeks off the pitch, with Hansi Flick dropping a bombshell that he would leave Bayern Munich at the end of this season.

It had been rumoured for a while that Flick would seek an exit to take up the coaching role at the German national team. The reported rift between the sextuple-winning manager and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic fuelled the speculations.

Prior to Flick’s announcement, Borussia Monchengladbach revealed that Frankfurt’s Adi Hutter would replace out-going Marco Rose at the end of this season.

Perhaps, Rose – the first of many to follow – revealed his decision to leave Monchengladbach at the end of this season to join fellow rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund had been in the search of a new manager after sacking Lucian Favre – Edin Terzic is currently assuming the makeshift role – before they opted to hire Rose.

Rose led Gladbach to a place in the top-four in Bundesliga last term and also reached the round of 16 of Champions League this term, where they lost to Manchester City.

However, the German gaffer has experienced a downturn of events since his announcement, with the Foals currently seventh in the Bundesliga and are ten points shy of the top-four.

Hutter has taken a leaf out of Rose’s book as the Eagles suffered a heavy defeat after his announcement, and ironically, that too came against his future employers Gladbach.

Nonetheless, Frankfurt have been a force to reckon with under Hutter this season as they are on course to gain a place in the Champions League.

After Flick’s announcement and till the end of this season, Bayern Munich could see transition period both in terms of managers and players. It is widely discussed that RB Leipzig’s Julian Nagelsmann could take charge in Munich before next season starts. Tottenham Hotspur could be another suitor for 33-year-old German, after they sacked Jose Mourinho yesterday.

Besides, FC Koln also sacked under-fire Markus Gisdol while announcing Friedhelm Funkel as his replacement. Dimitrios Grammozis is currently managing Schalke after four managers were sacked in a span of seven months.
