Liverpool have recently signed Darwin Nunez from Benfica to strengthen their attack but the Reds are not done improving in the final third. They are eyeing up a move for the Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio.

According to the latest reports, the Spanish international midfielder is valued at around £34 million and he will demand wages of around £5.5 million per season.

With just one year left on his current contract, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool will agree to pay that kind of money for his services.

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid are willing to lower their asking price for the talented attacking midfielder.

Asensio was rated as one of the most exciting young talents to have come out of the Real Madrid Academy in recent years but he has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth under Carlo Ancelotti.

The midfielder needs to leave this summer and join a club where he can play regular first-team football and Liverpool could certainly use his creativity and flair in the final third.

The Reds are set to lose Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich and the likes of Takumi Minamino are expected to depart as well.

Liverpool have already parted ways with Divock Origi, whose contract expired this summer.

It is evident that Jurgen Klopp needs to bring in more attacking depth and Asensio would be a quality long-term acquisition.

The midfielder has won multiple trophies with Real Madrid and he knows the challenges of playing for a  big club.

The Spaniard has the potential to develop into a top-class Premier League midfielder and a world-class manager like Klopp could help unlock his potential.
