RB Leipzig will host Bayer Leverkusen this Sunday in one of the biggest clashes of the Bundesliga weekend.

Venue: Red Bull Arena (Leipzig)

Key Statistics

RB Leipzig have won three of their last five games in all competitions (L1, D1).

The home team have not kept a Bundesliga clean sheet in five games.

At home in the league, they have won five of their opening six games (D1), scoring 20 times and conceding just six goals. Only Bayern Munich (22) and Borussia Dortmund (21) have scored more goals at home.

Christopher Nkunku has played more minutes than any outfield player at the club since his arrival to the Bundesliga.

Bayer Leverkusen have the second-best away record in the league this season.

They are unbeaten away from home, winning three and drawing three in six away games.

The visitors have scored 15 times away from home in the league. Only Bayern Munich (19) goals have scored more while only Freiburg (5) have conceded less than the six goals the visitors have conceded on their road trips.

Head to head

RB Leipzig have won five of the last ten head-to-head meetings between both teams. Leverkusen won just once in that period while four of those meetings ended in a draw.

Rb Leipzig

After their exciting Champions League win in midweek, RB Leipzig welcome Bayer Leverkusen to the Red Bull Arena this Sunday looking to pick up maximum points at home.

The hosts beat Belgian side Club Brugge in the UCL on Wednesday thanks to goals from the in-form Christopher Nkunku, Andre Silva and a brace from Emil Forsberg.

The win gave them a chance of qualifying for the Europa League and would have boosted their morale ahead of this tie.

With just one loss from their last eight games, it appears that Jesse Marsch’s ideologies are beginning to yield results for the German side. They have won five of their opening six games at home in the league this season and will fancy their chances of adding another in this game.

But the American manager will have issues with selection in this tie as at least six of his player are suffering various niggling fitness issues. Also, the duo of Novoa Ramos and Willie Orban are in isolation after testing positive of COVID-19 and are expected to miss this tie.

Possible RB Leipzig starting line-ups

Martinez Josep; Nordi Mukiele, Lukas Klostermann, Mohamed Simakan, Angelino; Ilaix Moriba, Kevin Kampl; Emil Forsberg, Christopher Nkunku, Dani Olmo; Andre Silva

Injured: Peter Gulacsi, Yussuf Poulsen, Marcel Halstenberg, Marcelo Saracchi, Konrad Laimer, Amadou Haidara,

Doubtful:, Dominik Szoboszlai,

COVID-19: Novoa Ramos, and Willie Orban

Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen will travel to Leipzig this Sunday looking to continue their unbeaten mini-run.

The visitors came back from behind to win 3-2 against Celtic in the Europa League on Thursday thanks to goals from Robert Andrich and Moussa Diaby.

The win made it four games unbeaten for Gerardo Seoane’s side who also beat Bochum 1-0 in their last league appearance.

They have one of the best away records in the league, having taken 12 points from the available 18 away from home. Away from home, they have scored 15 times and conceded six.

Seoane’s side are sitting in fourth place, three points ahead of seventh-placed Leipzig. A win here will keep them in the top four positions where they are desperate to finish in this season.

Possible Bayer Leverkusen starting line-ups

Lukas Hradecky, Jeremie Frimpong, Odilon Kossounou, Edmond Tapsoba, Daley Sinkgraven, Exequiel Palacios, Robert Andrich, Moussa Diaby, Florian Wirtz, Nadiem Amiri, Amine Adli.
