Western Sydney Wanderers

Western Sydney Wanderers will look to get back to winning ways in the league when they welcome Perth Glory to Sydney this Wednesday.

The hosts have endured a miserable run of form in recent times, losing four of their last five games (D1).

They come into this tie fresh from a chastening 3-0 away loss to Brisbane Roar. In a frustrating affair at the Dolphin Stadium, Western Sydney Wanderers controlled 60% of the ball but failed to take their chances. Instead, it was Brisbane Roar with less ball possession, were more clinical. They scored in the 27th minute of the game through Nikola Mileusnic, who scored another in the second half before Rahmat Akbari wrapped up the win late in the game.

The result leaves the hosts languishing in eleventh with six points after seven games (W1, D3, L3).

They will be desperate to win this game to move off the bottom places on the table. But an attack that has failed to score in three of their last four games cannot be trusted to deliver goals in this game against a Perth Glory side that has conceded five goals in six games.

Possible WS Wanderers starting line-up

Tomas Mejias; Rhys Williams, John Koutroumbis, Thomas Aquilina, Adama Traore; Steven Ugarkovic, Terry Antonis, Ramy Najjarine; James Troisi, Dimitri Petratos, Tomer Hemed.

Injured: Vedran Janjetovic

Doubtful: Rhys Williams

Suspended: None

Perth Glory

Perth Glory ended a two-game losing run last time out when they beat Sydney FC 2-1 away from home.

Goals from Brandon O’Neil and Bruno Fornaroli gave Richard Garcia’s side the win and ensured that they came off the foot of the table into ninth place.

They have won seven points this season (W2, D1, L3) but have only played six games after many of their games were postponed because of COVID-19.

They will look to continue their winning run when they face their second Sydney team in a row.

Meanwhile, they come into this game on the back of a 1-0 friendly win over Gwelup Croatia SC.

A win in this game would boost their chances of going into the top six in the coming weeks, while a loss could see them drop back to the low positions on the table.

Possible Perth Glory starting line-up

Liam Reddy; Jack Clisby, Darryl Lachman, Jonathan Aspropotamitis, Antonee Burke-Gilroy; Osama Malik, Brandon O’Neill, Antonee Gilroy; Andy Keogh, Bruno Fornaroli, Adrian Sardinero.

Injured: None

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
