Guardiola hints at Erling Haaland transfer
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has said the club would break the bank to find a replacement for Sergio Aguero if needed, with Dortmund’s Erling Haaland being linked with a £154m move to Etihad.
“So far, the club has decided not to spend close to £100m for a player.
“Maybe in the future it will happen when the club decides it is necessary to improve the team for the next five to 10 years. The organisation has so far decided not to and that is why we haven’t. Maybe in the future.”
Man City will host Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals and ahead of the game, Guardiola also heaped praises on Haaland, who has been in sensational form this season. However, the former Barcelona boss didn’t delve much into the Norwegian’s transfer speculations.
“He’s exceptional but it’s not appropriate for me to talk about him.
“The numbers speak for themselves. He can score right, left, counter attacks, in the box, headers. He’s a fantastic striker, everyone knows it. A blind guy can realise he’s a good striker, it’s not necessary to be a manager.”

City will listen to offers for Laporte
Man City are planning to sell Aymeric Laporte as they are ready to listen to offers for the French defender.
Laporte has fallen down the pecking order of Guardiola, with Ruben Dias and John Stones forming a solid partnership in the defence.
The 25-year-old has made only 13 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Italian website CalcioMercato has claimed that Manchester City will ‘listen to offers’ for defender Aymeric Laporte this summer, as the Frenchman has dropped down the pecking order behind the likes of John Stones and Ruben Dias.
