Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Adrien Rabiot this summer.
Juventus are planning to use Rabiot in a deal to bring Pogba back to the club. The Manchester United midfielder is keen on a move this summer and the Italian champions are prepared to bring him back.
Pogba has had a mixed time at Old Trafford so far and he hasn’t lived up to the expectations. The World Cup winner wants a new challenge and a return to Serie A would be ideal.
Juventus want to win the Champions League and Pogba would help them in that regard.
Meanwhile, there are certain complications that need to ironed out before the swap deal can be completed.
Rabiot is on high wages at Juventus and Manchester United are not prepared to pay him that much. Rabiot will have to take a paycut for the move to go through.
The former PSG player is unwanted at Juventus and if he wants to resurrect his career, a move to United would be ideal. He should consider accepting a lower wage for now.
Secondly, Juventus value Rabiot at around £27m and Manchester United believe is a worth less.
Therefore, the Italian giants will have to offer more money along with Rabiot to bring Pogba back to the club.
In theory, the swap deal benefits both teams and they should try harder to get things done. But the financial disagreements could prove to be tricky.
The players would benefit from such a move as well and they should look to force the transfer as well. Pogba will get a challenge at Juventus and Rabiot can play more often at United and kick-start his career.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.
