Lisandro Martinez on the radar
Barcelona are interested in signing Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez as the Catalans look to reinforce the defence.
Barca have reportedly made contact with Ajax over the signing of the Argentine youngster, who is adept at playing as a centre-back and a defensive midfielder.
Martinez, 23, joined the Dutch champions in 2019 and has since been impressive. He is also said to be watched by top clubs including AC Milan and PSG.
Barca have also been linked with David Alaba, however, Real Madrid are said to be ahead in the transfer race for the Austrian international.
Messi wants to play with Haaland
Lionel Messi has reportedly informed Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola that he is interested in playing with Norwegian striker.
Haaland’s entourage – Raiola and his father Alf-Inge Haaland – met with Barca president Joan Laporta to discuss a potential signing. However, they had also met Real Madrid and are planned to visit Manchester clubs in the coming days, thus presenting Barca a fierce competition.
Reports state that Messi is eager to share the football field with Haaland and Barca are also happy to see the Norwegian take the Argentine’s mantle in future.
Messi is still awaiting a renewal offer from Barca as he appears to be leaning towards the idea of continuing with his long time club amid interest from PSG.
Barca have also shortlisted few names if they fail to land Haaland and they are Romelu Lukaku, Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero and Lautaro Martinez.
