Carlo Ancelotti has a massive challenge ahead of him at Real Madrid

As Real Madrid are moving toward a new era, manager Caro Ancelotti would have a tough time regrouping the team together in transition time.

Real Madrid announced the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager earlier this summer, and the Italian will be expected to lead them to trophies this year.

Ancelotti enjoyed a successful spell with Real Madrid in the past, and he helped them win the coveted La Decima.

However, things have changed since then, and Real Madrid are no longer the side they used to be.

Los Blancos have lost key players like Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane this summer, and Ancelotti will have to fill their void with the options at his disposal.

The arrival of David Alaba will certainly help Real Madrid, but they are likely to miss the leadership of Ramos.

In the midfield, Ancelotti will have to work with world-class players like Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, but both players are in their 30s, and they are likely to be on the decline.

The same can be said about Real Madrid’s attack as well.

Karim Benzema is undoubtedly in impressive form, but the French international will need more support alongside him.

The likes of Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale are clearly not the players they used to be, and Ancelotti might have to rely on the inexperienced Vinicius Junior and the likes of Rodrygo and Marco Asensio.

There is no doubt that the Italian manager has a massive challenge ahead of him. It will be interesting to see if he can compete with the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid for the Spanish La Liga title.

That said, Barcelona are in a bit of disarray with Lionel Messi leaving and the club failing to register their summer signings because of financial pressure.

However, Atletico Madrid have an impressive squad at their disposal, and they could be Real Madrid’s strongest rivals in the title race this season.
