Setien’s future is up in the air following the La Liga title slip up.
Barcelona manager Quique Setien has a less chance of surviving at the Camp Nou after failing to lead his side to the La Liga trophy. However, his future as Barca manager will be measured upon the Champions League success – to win the title. Here are three possible successors for the former Real Betis manager.
Massimiliano Allegri
Massimiliano Allegri managed AC Milan from 2010-2014 and won the Serie A in 2010-11, before taking over at Juventus in 2014. With Juventus, he won five Serie A title before he left the manager’s role at the end of the 2018-19 season.
He was recently linked with Inter Milan job. As per the rumour, Antonio Conte may leave Inter at the end of the season and Allegri would be number one choice for Inter.
Though ironically, Allegri rejected the opportunity to manage Italian club Cagliari, saying his next job will be outside the country.
Allegri’s patient, possession-based footballing philosophy is in sync with that of Barcelona’s, and the Italian has already been linked with the Barcelona job in the past.
