Wolverhampton Wanderers are good enough to cause problems for most teams in the country, but Manchester City put on a splendid showing away from home, and they managed to dominate the game from start to finish.

Talented young midfielder Phil Foden doubled Manchester City’s lead on the 32nd minute with a well-taken goal.

Although Wolverhampton Wanderers managed to get back into the game late in the second half, they failed to grab an equaliser.

Gabriel Jesus scored the final goal of the game deep into injury time thanks to a deflection from Conor Coady.

Manchester City were firm favourites heading into the game, but Wolves will feel that they could have done a lot better.

Star players like Adama Traore failed to perform, and Nuno will be demanding a lot more from his players in the coming weeks.

Manchester City lost the title to Liverpool last season, and they will be desperate to reclaim their domestic crown this year. They need to make a strong start in order to get some momentum and confidence.
